Thurrock - A new era begins

Hi friends, the club that i had chosen to manage in football manager 2010 is a blue square south club Thurrock F. C. They are a club based in Grays, Thurrock, Essex, England. Thurrock is a fairly young club if you compare to the powerhouse in English football. They were formed in 1985 as Purfleet F.C. This explain why their nickname is affectionately known as The Fleet.They changed their name to Thurrock in 2003 as they wanted a name close to the community to attract more fans. Thurrock play their football in ship lane, Grays. 

You must be wondering why did i choose them. The reason is very simple, I want to create a history with them. They are a young club with a empty cabinet waiting to be filled. I want to bring them up to the premier league though it is not easy. However patience is the key, I hope I can achieve this. 


I have a personal message from the chairman during my 1st day in the club.
I hope we can work closely with each other to achieve the targets for Thurrock F.C. The chairman is enjoying his times in the club and he intends to be around for very long time. Seems like he loved Thurrock a lot.


After meeting with the chairman, there is also a chance to meet up with my staff. There is a lot of recommendation regarding the strengths and weaknesses of my squad. I will take my time to go through every report and consider their recommendation.

The media predicts us to finish last in the coming season. I think i am going to prove them wrong.

That's why the chairman does not expect much from me either. He will be happy if we attempt to avoid relegation. But I told him we can avoid relegation. However the club is rather poor now, there is no transfer funds available for me to bring in any players. I think i need to release some players whom i think is not good enough to have more wage budgets. I will see whether there is any good players for free and try to snap them up. In the meantime, I will request my board to find me a parent club. Hope can loan some good youngsters to strengthen the squad. I need to spend some time to go through my squad, there is a friendly between the 1st team and reserves coming up. I think I will have a better idea after that. In my next post I will inform about my transfer activities and hopefully finish the friendly matches.

Playing demo - Vauxhall motors

Hello friends, I have chosen the club which I played in FM09 Vauxhall motors to test out the new features of FM10. So how does FM10 fares comparing to FM09. I must say I am quite impress by the new user interface.

The horizontal tab is very easy to use and it is convenient to access to the informations which you need. For example under the team name, you will be able to see players, tactics, fixtures ,backroom advice, training and coaches.

Your assistant manager will now be able to provide you with a lot of advice on and off whenever he has something to tell you. The categories can cover like which player require can improve his game after going through some training on the PPM. Ideal person to take the set piece or even recommend some players who can help to improve the team. There are still a lot of things to explore on. This actually makes your job easier especially when you are taking over a new club.

I notice this time around, the transfer activity of  the club in the premier league is not as much like FM09. I do not know whether it is due to demo version. Except the big clubs with a lot of cash, most of the clubs are not spending or signing any players. Probably in reality they already spend their budget so SI take that into consideration.

The next thing i want to cover is the feature i like most. The tactics creator....it is now very easy to create the style that you want your team to play. Just follow the steps and you are on your way.

Every step will give a explanation on the item that you have chosen so you will be able to configure your playing philosophy and playing styles.But what i like most is the player duties. Once you have chosen your player duties for example like this

Some of the attributes link to this duty will be highlighted, this apply to other duty also. This will help in sourcing the right players to fit into the formations or vice versa.

In overall, i think FM10 has been very impressive indeed. I will wait for the full version to start my football manager journey. See you very soon...

Football manager demo

Hello friends, I am downloading the demo now. I will choose a club to manage later on once my computer has finished the downloading. So my football manager story journey begins now. One more week to go...........

Hello friends, one more week to go before the demo version of football manager 2010 reach our hands. I am so excited about it. Can't wait to try out all the new features....Like to try out on the new tactics, touchline shouts (any influence on the players ??) and experience the new user interface. The time of addiction spend on the game is going to be one more year again.. Hope my wife doesn't complain a lot if i spend too much time playing my favorite game....I will update this blog again when i decide which club to manage. See you.....

Hello friends, this is my first time writing a blog.... The whole blog will be about my favorite game, football manager. I would like to dedicate this blog to all the football manager lovers out there and the guys from sports interactive. You guys made such a wonderful game. As you know, football manager 2010 will be out soon, i will be choosing a new club to manage. Currently in my football manager 2009, i am managing Vauxhall motor, a blue square north club. Manage to bring them to the premier league in my 14th seasons. I am a fan of low league management. I like the ultimate challenge of bringing a very small club to summit of the premier league even though it will take seasons after seasons to achieve that. So i will probably choose either a blue square north / south club to start with when i get my hands on the football manager 2010. That's all for now. See you soon...
